Why I built redesign.llc.

Building a genuinely good-looking website (every section filled with the right content, good images, a layout that actually works) has always taken an incredible amount of time and money. You can try to build it yourself on Webflow, Wix, or Canva, but if you start from scratch you usually struggle, because good design is genuinely hard.

Templates are the other route, and they come with their own headache. You go find one, figure out whether it's any good, buy it, check which platform it even works with, and then retrofit all your content into it by hand. That's a lot of work for something that was supposed to be a shortcut.

So most people give up and hire a developer. The process drags. What should take days or weeks turns into months. And because it costs so much, the math stops making sense, so a lot of businesses build a website once and never touch it again, upgrading only when it becomes absolutely unavoidable.

The new AI builders don't fix it: they lock you in

The wave of AI site builders (Lovable, Bolt, Emergent) looked like the answer. But they bring the same trap in a new shape: you're locked into a vendor, paying every month, and the moment you want to build on top of your site or move it somewhere else, you're right back to needing to be technical or hiring someone. If you just want a website that works and don't want to think about it, there still aren't many good options.

The gap I wanted to close
